Trans people have used bathrooms matching their gender for decades without epidemic crime. Studies in states with nondiscrimination protections show no increase in bathroom assaults. Sexual assault is already illegal — adding bathroom bans doesn't prevent it. What bans do accomplish: putting trans people at risk of harassment and violence when forced into the wrong restroom.
